Hello from your deacon!
My guiding principles as a deacon are rooted in living into our Baptismal Covenant‘s charge to seek and serve Christ in all persons, love our neighbors as ourselves, strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.
30-Day Challenge:
How do we understand, encounter, and propagate the “fruit of the Spirit”?
During the month of July, I invite you to join me in doing one thing each day to bring the fruit of the Holy Spirit more deeply into our lives and the lives of others.
LGBTQ+ Pride
The Episcopal Churches of Clark County (all 5 congregations) had a booth at Vancouver’s Pride in the Park celebration this past Saturday, and I was excited to be there to represent Holy Spirit.
T
he husband of one of our Clark County deacons put together a video of the day and was gracious enough to share a link for our congregations – I hope you enjoy it!
If you have questions about how we can be more welcoming to queer people of faith as a congregation and/or know folks who are LGBTQ+ Christians who may be looking for a supportive church community, I have gathered many resources and built some web pages for them on my Deacon’s Journey website.
Battle Ground Pride:
Holy Spirit is hoping to have a table at this year’s Battle Ground LGBTQ+ Pride event in August; please contact me if you would like to help with organizing, tending the table, or participating in another way.
This page is a work in progress, and a place for me to share thoughts, homilies, resources, things that inspire me, and maybe even a few pics from the farmstead. If there’s something specific you’d like to see here, please let me know: deaconariwolfe@gmail.com.
I also maintain a personal website called Deacon’s Journey (https://deaconsjourney.com) and one for our farmstead and forge (https://anderwolfe.com) for those who are interested in checking them out.
